03 21st Oct 2003 prem03bpoints.pdf prem03bresults.pdf prem03bweek.pdf The first race, a 40 lap scratch race was won by Mike Cubison having his first race of the present league.
Next we had the 50 lap Points race and a splendid ride from Ian Stott from Blackburn CTC who achieved an extra 10 points by lapping the field. This gave him a total of 18 points. The other placings were very close Ben Swift 9 pts Adrian Thorp 7 pts and Julian Mortel 7 pts.
The evenings Devil takes the Hindmost was won by the experienced Hugh Cameron.
Hugh rode in an exemplary way, sitting in a front group whilst others scrambled at the back, then with a couple of laps to go he went away leaving the remainder of the field looking at one another trying to decide who should chase him down.
The last race, the 10 mile scratch, won in a very close finish by Mike Cubison from Ben Swift.
02 14th Oct 2003 prem02bpoints.pdf prem02bresults.pdf prem02bweek.pdf Another good nights racing saw Matt Haynes [ City of Edinburgh ] consolidate his position as the leader of the present league. He won three of the four races and at this rate will overhaul Alwyn McMath as leader in the year to date situation in about three weeks. James Notley, thankfully none the worse for his fall last week, scored in three of the races and the Blackburn & District Stott duo were always in the action and finished third and fourth in the final 10 mile race after Tony had taken the half distance sprint.
