Website
BC: Brtish Cycling - The governing body of Cycle Sport in the UK, their heqadquarters are here at the National Cycling Centre.
Cleat: This is the device on a cycling shoe which clicks into a "look" cleat type pedal, similar to a ski binding. All the adult Velodrome bikes are fitted with look pedals.
Derny: A pacing machine, similar to a moped, where cyclists take pace and draft behind the derny driver
Endurance: Longer events on the track. The pursuit is the shortest endurance eventon the track - 3000 metres for Women and 4000 metres for Men. These are Olympic disciplines, and the other Olympic endurance events are Madison and the Points Race. The Scratch Race is a World Championship and Commonwealth Games discipline, but not in the Olympics.

Sprint: Any short distance effort on the track. Typically there are the Olympic disciplines of the individual Sprint, the Keirin and the Team Sprint. The 500metres and 1 Kilometre time trial have just been removed from the Olympics but are still a World Championship Event.
SQT: Structured Quality Training
Veteran: Arider over the age of 40 years. Masters can include veteran riders but starts at 30 years plus.
